Waterfront Leisure Membership Rules.

These necessary rules and regulations have been created to provide all members and their guests with a comfortable, safe and enjoyable experience on every visit. The contents also form part of your membership agreement with us.

1. Membership, membership cards and access
1.1 Acceptance of application for membership is subject to initial fees paid in advance of one month and pro-
rata days until the next available collection date for direct debits. The payments will be on a rolling direct
debit basis and you can select either the 1 st or 15 th of the month for collection.
1.2 The criteria to qualify for joint membership is 2 adults at the same address. Proof of this will be required
on your first visit.
1.3 Proof of age will need to be produced upon the first visit of juniors, aged 5-17.
1.4 Membership cards are issued to all members and must be presented to site security and Waterfront on
each visit to enable access to the facilities. Members are required to have their photograph taken by
Waterfront and added to each membership card for identification purposes.
1.5 Lost cards will be replaced at a cost of £5.00 each. If it is due to theft, they will be replaced free of charge if
a crime number is supplied.
1.6 Last entry to Waterfront will be one hour prior to closing and all members must finish activities 30 minutes
before the centre closes.
1.7 Access will be denied following non-payment of membership fees.
1.8 Notice to terminate membership is required in writing by letter or email one month prior to your next
payment due date.

2. Guests
2.1 Only members aged over 18 may introduce guests to the Waterfront, subject to the payment of the
relevant charge.
2.2 Members must always accompany their guests in the Waterfront and are responsible for their conduct.
2.3 All guests must register with valid ID at reception. Failure to do so may result in refusal of entry.
2.4 Social guests can be introduced free of charge to use the Waterfront Bar & Restaurant only, if accompanied
by a member.
2.5 A member may sign in a maximum of 3 guests at any one time.
2.6 The Waterfront reserves the right to refuse entry to any person as a guest, at its sole discretion. Examples
include: Former expelled members / anyone with an application for membership rejected / Suspended
Members
2.7 Members Free guest passes are allocated on the basis of Membership Packages / Silver – 1 free guest pass
every 6 months / Gold – 1 free guest pass every 3 months / Platinum – 1 free guest pass monthly – when using
a free guest passes reception must be advised prior to entry with classes subject to availability- Platinum plus –
2 free guest passes per month.
2.8 Members may bring a guest for the day at a charge of £20.00 for an adult or £10.00 for a junior. Members
guests are to be prearranged by telephone and paid for at Waterfront reception.

3. Juniors
3.1 Juniors aged 5-15 cannot be left in any area and must be actively always supervised by an adult member
3.2 Juniors aged 5-15 are not permitted to use the Gym or classes.
3.3 Juniors 16 and 17 can be in the leisure centre and use the gym and classes without an adult – if permitted
by the instructor or if under own Public Liability Insurance
3.4 Babies and under 5’s are welcome in the bar & restaurant.
3.5 Juniors of age 15 and under must be out of the leisure centre by 19:00 – Monday – Friday
3.6 Juniors cannot book out Racquet Courts
3.7 Children aged 5-11 are not permitted to use the sauna, steam sunbed or jacuzzi at any time.
3.8 Children must use the same sex changing room after their 7th birthday or change with their family in the
disabled/family changing facilities.

4. Your general Health & Safety
4.1 The Company may, at any time, withdraw all or part of a facility for any period or periods and with or
without notice in connection with any cleaning, repair, alteration or maintenance work or for any reasons
beyond their control.
4.2 Members and guests are advised not to undertake strenuous physical activities if they have reservations as
to their physical condition without seeking medical advice in advance. All members must undergo an initial
assessment and a basic supervised induction before using the Gymnasium or Fitness Studio equipment and to
do otherwise is at their own risk.
4.3 Only sealed plastic drinking containers are permitted in any training area.
4.4 In the interests of hygiene members and guests are required to wipe down all equipment after use with
sanitizing products provided.
4.5 No crockery, glass or food is permitted in the changing rooms, gym, studios, racquet sport, football or
swimming pool areas.
4.6 No pets are permitted in the Leisure centre (except Bar & Restaurant) apart from registered guide dogs.
4.7 The main entrance to Waterfront must be used when entering or leaving. Alarmed fire exits, which are
clearly marked, are there in the interest of safety and must only be used in an emergency.
4.8 In the event of a fire, members and their guests must use the nearest available exit following the direction
of staff.
4.9 Parking is only permitted in designated parking bays.
4.10 Smoking is not permitted in any part of the Waterfront.
4.11 Members and guests are required to store their belongings in the changing room lockers while using the
facilities. A £1 coin or trolley token is needed to operate the locks.
4.12 Belongings cannot be left in lockers overnight or if members and guests are not in the building.
4.13 Waterfront Leisure will not accept liability for the personal property of members or their guests.
4.14 The Waterfront reserves the right, in its absolute discretion, to refuse to store any such personal
property.

4.15 Waterfront Leisure cannot accept any liability for injury to any member or guest that may occur on the
premises or within the grounds of the Waterfront, other than liability which may arise from the negligence of
the Company, its staff or its agents.
4.16 Any member who suffers an accident at Waterfront must report it to Reception / Management Team
immediately.

5. Booking facilities and services
5.1 Advance bookings for classes / racquets may be made by telephone or in person, for certain facilities. All
bookings must be confirmed on arrival.
5.2 Bookings for classes / racquets / activities may be made by Members Booking App.
5.3 Fees, where applicable, must be paid before the use of the relevant facility.
5.4 Failure to cancel a booking of any type without reasonable notice may result in incurring a penalty.

6. Dress code
6.1 Members and guests must wear a form of dress as deemed appropriate by the Waterfront management to
the time of day and place on all occasions.
6.2 Only non-marking badminton and squash footwear is permitted on courts – no black soled shoes.
6.3 Swimwear cannot be worn anywhere except in the swimming pool area.
6.4 Sportswear and trainers are required in the Gym.
6.5 Appropriate clothing is required in the Bar & Restaurant.

7. Coaching and Personal Training
7.1 All coaching and personal training is controlled by the Waterfront. No other coaching or personal training is
permitted without the prior written consent from the General Manager.

8. Swimming Pool & jacuzzi
8.1 Access to swimming areas is only by designated routes.
8.2 No running, jumping, or diving is allowed in or around the pool.
8.3 In the interest of hygiene, please shower before and after using the swimming pool and jacuzzi.
8.4 No inflatables, flippers, snorkels, outdoor shoes, clothing, bags are permitted in the pool area other than
those provided by Waterfront during designated periods.
8.5 Mobile devices, phones, radios, electrical devices and any items the Waterfront considers to be
detrimental to the use of the pool areas are not permitted
8.6 Appropriate swimwear must be worn.
8.7 The pool is not under lifeguard or constant supervision – but is monitored by reception via CCTV. Members
use the pool area under their own cognisance. Notices and advice issued by Waterfront are for member’s
safety and must be adhered to.
8.8 During certain periods of the day, the pool may be set aside for specific use such as family or adult only
swimming, aqua classes and swimming lessons. Please see local timetables for specific details and conditions.
8.9 Use of pool not allowed during aqua classes

9. Sauna and steam room
9.1 Members and guests with the following conditions are advised not to use the saunas, steam rooms and spa
areas – Low/high blood pressure, cardiac irregularities, asthma and pregnancy. If there is any doubt your
General Practitioner should be consulted.
9.2 Please shower before and after using the sauna or steam room.
9.3 Swimwear must be worn in the sauna, steam room.
9.4 For safety reasons no person should spend more than 10 to 15 minutes in a sauna or steam room.
9.5 Shaving is not permitted in the sauna or steam room.

10. Sunbeds
10.1 Under 18’s are not permitted to use the sunbed. Tokens are an extra charge and available from reception.
10.2 Members and guests must familiarise themselves with the sunbed leaflets and complete the
questionnaire issued by the Waterfront prior to their first session.
10.3 Members must obtain doctors consent before using the sunbeds whilst they are undergoing a course of
medical treatments.
10.4 In the interest of safety members will be limited to the number of sunbeds they can have in any one
period. Details are listed on the sunbed information leaflet.
10.4 When using the sunbeds appropriate goggles/eyewear must always be worn.

11. Platinum Plus
11.1 – The signed contract for Platinum Plus is subject to a minimum Six-month term.
11.2 – After the end of month Three – the membership has a three month rolling notice period.
11.3 – The agreed Platinum Plus services are indicated in the signed contract and are subject to
availability and are subject to change.
11.4 – All other Platinum Plus payment are as per sections 1-6 in the Waterfront Leisure Payment

Terms – except clause 4.1 relating to 11.1 & 11.2.

We may make reasonable changes to these rules at any time by displaying changes on a Waterfront noticeboard. If we make a significant permanent change to the opening hours or facilities available, you may cancel your membership with effect from the date of the change. (Please note the Junior variation of Membership Rules at Waterfront Leisure in section 3. All other rules are consistent at Waterfront Leisure)
